Appalachian National Scenic Trail

Appalachian National Scenic Trail

The Appalachian Trail brings visitors to Rangeley throughout the summer season. Pick up the AT near Roxbury, Height of Land, or the Piazza Rock Trailheads. Art can be from any vantage point along the AT as it passes through the Rangeley Region.

The AT is busiest on the weekends with day hikers.

Recreational Opportunities

Conservation Story

Established in 1937, the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a 2,180-mile footpath. It carries hikers from Mount Katahdin in Maine to Springer Mountain in northern Georgia.

Please note this is not an RLHT property; we have listed it here for The Artists Trail. For information on the AT, visit the Maine Appalachian Trail Club’s official website.

Support Our Work

Trail stewardship isn’t easy. Consider a gift to support our Community Conservation Corps.

Conserve Your Land

RLHT ensures lands will remain undeveloped with easements.
