Since our founding in 1991, many people have contributed their energy and passion towards fulfilling our vision of conserving the land and waters of the Rangeley Lakes Region. Volunteers, employees, donors, friends and colleagues, and people young and old share a mutual love for the Rangeley community and its stunning natural beauty. We have acknowledged them below.

In Memoriam: Marie Packard Chabot

She enjoyed life spending time with her family, friends, and cherished spending time with her grandchildren. She had a great smile. Marie enjoyed the outdoors such as, riding on snowmobiles, ATV’s, boat rides on Roxbury pond, hunting, fishing, and feeding the deer at the “RIVER”.
She met the love of her life Ray Chabot and they were married in 1993 at Rapid River. They had many years of happiness together and too many adventures to list. Their beloved Sugar Shack on Rapid River was a haven for friends, family, and deer!
Marie will be missed by all who loved and knew her.Marie was predeceased by her brothers Carl and David; her mother Theresa Chaisson Leblanc; her husband and soulmate Raymond Chabot. Marie leaves behind her sons Gary Witas, Michael Witas and wife Nicole; grandchildren Emma and Sully Witas; stepdaughters Yvette Chabot Bailey and husband Wayne and Liz Chabot Cihak. She is also survived by brother Robert LeBlanc and wife Joyce, sisters Anna Smith and husband Richard, Jan Truitt and husband Richard, and Gloria Cole; as well as many nieces and nephews.
